“I’ve regularly spoken with one mum for at least a year now, offering friendship and support and sometimes being able to find out information for her when things have been overwhelming. She has phoned a couple of times when having a hard week, which has made me feel as though I am giving her moral support.
I also help out practically with another mum who struggles to keep up with her household chores. After 6-8 weeks this relationship is building and we have begun a routine of taking different jobs in hand, knowing what she wants to achieve and chatting as we go.
Two very different families with different needs but I feel I am making a difference and it’s what I set out to do!”
