In celebration of Home-Start Wokingham District’s 25th anniversary, The Mayor of Wokingham Borough invites all primary school aged children in the Borough to enter an Art Competition.
The theme for the competition is “My Family”.
The artwork must be a drawing, colouring or painting on plain paper no bigger than A3 in size.
The entries to competition will be split into two categories: Infants (4-7 year olds) and Juniors (8-11 year olds) with one winner from each category.
The closing date for submissions is 28 February 2021.
The judges will be the Mayor, the Chair of Trustees of Home-Start Wokingham District, the Head Teacher of Shinfield St Mary’s Junior School, Jo from Jo Jo Art Club in Wargrave and Zoe from Artists’ Harvest in Finchampastead.
To enter, please email a photograph of your child’s artwork to mayor@wokingham.gov.uk with title My Family Art Competition and the name and age of your child and a short explanation of their artwork (optional). Please keep the artwork safe as we hope (with your permission) to be able to exhibit some of the entries at a later date.
There will be a virtual exhibition of the top 25 entries on websites and social media.
The winners will be announced online on Easter Sunday (4 April).
The prizes will be a voucher for a day at Jo Jo Art Club and art and craft materials kindly donated by Artists Harvest, which will be presented to the winners at their schools (provided they are open) by the Mayor, in the summer term.
There is no cost to enter the competition but a small donation to Home-Start Wokingham District would be greatly appreciated and would go towards supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged families in the Borough, with at least one child under five, who are going through particularly tough times.
