Home-Start Wokingham District are a truly local charity, working with and for people living in the Wokingham Borough. All our families, volunteers and trustees play a part in shaping our services to ensure they meet the needs of the community.

While we work independently, the key to the success of our work is partnerships with other organisations. We work closely with both statutory and voluntary organisations across the Wokingham Borough, including the Berkshire Health Care – Health Visiting Team and WBC Children’s Services who refer many of our families to us.

Our Partners

We have worked closely with Wokingham Borough Council on the recently published Best Start in Life Strategy and the development of the Family Hub model, and we are proud to be one of the first organisations to deliver groups at the new Ambleside Family Hub. In partnership with the local Health Visiting Team, we co-deliver a monthly drop in session, which enables us to speak directly with families, promote the new baby group, and raise awareness of the wider Home Start service.

Last year also marked the beginning of a new collaboration with Earley Crescent, where we now host all staff meetings and the monthly Health Visiting drop in sessions. This partnership has strengthened our local presence and provided a welcoming, accessible base for service delivery.
We are proud to work alongside a range of local organisations whose support helps us reach more families and strengthen everything we do:

• Wokingham Volunteer Centre — supporting us to recruit dedicated volunteers who are at the heart of our service Involve Community Services — invaluable help with Trustee recruitment, bid writing and networking opportunities
• WADE (Care for the Elderly) — joining us for the annual Charity Golf Day
• Easthampstead Rotary Club — ongoing community support and partnership
• Wokingham Lions — bringing us together for the Wokingham Walk, Winter Carnival and May Fayre
• St Paul's Church — hosted an Easter messy play event for our families
• Mothers' Union, Diocese of Oxford — generously providing summer activity bags to brighten the holidays for the families we support
